I'm new here. What IS Modern Good?

Modern Good creates limited edition apparel that gives back. We partner non-profit organizations with designers to create thoughtful, wearable charity. Together we celebrate the work of these charitable partners, raise awareness for their cause and donate a portion of each purchase to the charity. Each purchase you make changes a life right here in Cleveland.

I want to buy a Modern Good shirt.
How does that work?

Modern Good is a pre-order system. Our non-profit partnership campaigns run wild for a month-long period to sell as many as they can. When a campaign is running, you can find the campaign dates clearly displayed at the top of each page. 

I just placed an order on Modern Good.
When can I expect it to arrive?

First of all, congratulations, you little do-gooder, you! After the campaign closes, we get to work printing and shipping the designs, which should arrive within 2 weeks of campaign close. We also send you an email letting you know your order shipped, and if you opted for UPS shipping we will send you a tracking notification. USPS shipping will arrive in the same time frame, without the fancy tracking number.

Who ships Modern Good shirts?

Boy, are we glad you asked! We've partnered with Connecting the Dots, a program of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministries, to pack and ship our shirts while providing employment opportunities for those in need. Your purchase helps so many people right here in Cleveland.

We print on the softest, comfiest, responsibly-made shirts we can find, produced by Bella+Canvas. They are sweatshop free and even use solar power in their factories. They're printed locally here in the 216 by our friends at 717 ink.

How can I design for Modern Good?

We love hearing from passionate designers who want to use their skills for good. If you're interested, send us an email and a portfolio link and we'll be in touch. Designers for Modern Good get 10% of each sale, as well as socially responsible graphic designer badge to add to their blog and portfolio.

Ooops....I messed up my size/address, etc. Can I fix that?

Most likely, yes, as long as the campaign hasn't closed. Send us an email and we'll take care of it.

How does Modern Good handle returns/exchanges?

We know that online ordering can be a pain, and we want you to be oh so very happy with your Modern Good tee. If you are unhappy with your product for any reason, send it back to us and we'll give you a Modern Good store credit, minus the charitable donation, since that has already been donated. We will do our best to make you as happy as we can.

Who is behind Modern Good?

A long-time advocate for design as a force for good, Sara Misconish founded Modern Good on an inspired summer night in 2014. After sharing her design expertise with organizations she held near and dear, she decided to take a leap of faith and create something inspired, impactful and uniquely hers. 

Modern Good was accepted into the the SEA Change NEO social enterprise accelerator program in September 2014 and is currently a small business mentee of ECDI.

To keep her centered on the good work ahead, Sara believes in: the power of a positive attitude, watermelon and wine for dinner, messy hair on purpose, and the restorative power of a good book, a long run or a good sweaty yoga session.
